How this calculator works
The estimate uses ZIP-prefix centroids to compute great-circle distance, multiplied by an over-the-road factor (1.18) for typical actual road distance. The per-mile band is selected from our published rate matrix based on vehicle class and trailer type, then adjusted for pickup-window urgency and distance-bracket modifiers.
